Leadership Team

Russ Philips

Russ Phillips founded Service First Consulting in 2000. Over the last 19 years, he has worked with large cultural institutions in the DC area as well as small nonprofits across America. He was a featured speaker at the 2017 Tableau Conference. Russ has an Aerospace Engineering degree from Virginia Tech and an MBA from George Mason University. He was a cheerleader for VT, GMU and the Baltimore Ravens and went to the 1999 Super Bowl. In his free time he follows the Nats and Caps, plays golf, cycles and vacations with his family. He is thrilled that the Nats won a World Series in his lifetime!

Shadi McPherson

With more than 25 years in the DC tech ecosystem, Shadi McPherson is a seasoned technical project manager experienced in guiding software innovation across both start-ups and enterprise-level institutions. She has a proven track record of implementing complex, multi-year software deployments and aligning high-performing technical teams to achieve strategic business goals. At home, she indulges in her love for learning new technologies and spending time with her family and dogs.

 

Allyson Doherty

Ms. Doherty has 16 years of professional experience managing resources and projects with tasks ranging from proposal writing, database management, documentation creation, and evaluative reporting. She has a great ability to organize, prioritize and work on multiple projects while meeting deadlines. Ms. Doherty is a persistent goal setter, project finisher, and skilled collaborator with a positive, engaging personality and an enthusiasm for working with others.

Our team is certified in Python, SQL, Power BI, and Tableau, bringing proven technical expertise to every project. From data integration and warehousing to dashboards, predictive modeling, and custom reporting, we partner with teams across the business to make trusted data accessible when and where it’s needed.

Our Travel & Finance team keeps the financial and logistical side of the business running smoothly. We coordinate travel arrangements, process invoices and payments accurately and on time, and manage vendor and supplier relationships to ensure seamless day-to-day operations. Our team is trained and experienced in government E2 travel systems, ensuring compliant and efficient support for government-related travel needs. Our goal is to support employees and partners with efficient, reliable service every step of the way.

  • We coordinate travel arrangements, including government E2 system bookings, to ensure smooth, cost-effective, and compliant trips.
